If you were injured by a defective product or a hazardous situation, you might have been directed to pages for mass tort updates, a list of active mass tort cases, or current mass tort lawsuits in 2025 while searching for help. The reason is that mass tort cases involve thousands of people who have been injured by the same products or conditions.
Our Las Vegas mass tort lawyers monitor ongoing class action lawsuits and MDLs (multidistrict litigation) for updates. Mass tort settlements and trials provide helpful information that can assist in other cases.
The top ongoing mass tort lawsuits in the U.S. right now include:
Paraquat Lawsuits
Paraquat is often used to clear fields between planting seasons because it destroys almost all plant life. However, it is toxic and can be lethal. Lawsuits allege the manufacturer of herbicides containing paraquat failed to provide adequate warnings of the risks of exposure to paraquat, including developing Parkinson’s disease. The Paraquat lawsuits continue to proceed to trial as rumors of a settlement circulate.
Allergan Breast Implant Lawsuits
Lawsuits allege that women with Allegan textured breast implants developed breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma. The cancer has been linked to textured breast implants, including the BIOCELL implants produced by Allergan. The Allergan breast implant lawsuits are progressing through the court and have not gone to trial.
Johnson & Johnson Talcum Powder
Thousands of people filed lawsuits against Johnson & Johnson, alleging that the talc in baby powder caused cancer. Several judgments and settlements have been reached, but many cases remain pending.
Paragard IUD Lawsuits
Thousands of women sued CooperSurgical and Teva Pharmaceutical, alleging their IUD (intrauterine device) is defective. The IUD is inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy. The victims allege that a design flaw can cause the IUD to break during removal, resulting in damage to internal organs. The first case in the Paragard MDL is scheduled to be tried in January 2026.
Hair Relaxer Lawsuits
A study linking chemical hair relaxers to an increased risk of uterine cancer was released in October 2022. A higher risk of developing other conditions may also be linked to hair relaxers, including ovarian cancer, uterine fibroids, and endometriosis. The lawsuits are currently in the discovery phase, meaning the parties are still gathering evidence.
Tepezza Lawsuits
Tepezza is used to treat thyroid eye disease (TED). Patients have reported hearing loss and tinnitus after receiving Tepezza injections. Lawsuits allege the manufacturer, Horizon Therapeutics, failed to disclose the risk to patients. The lawsuits are currently proceeding through the discovery phase.
Bard PowerPort Lawsuits
The Bard PowerPort is a catheter that can be implanted to deliver medications and fluids intravenously. Lawsuits allege that manufacturing and design flaws in the device can cause it to migrate and/or fracture after implant. The patient can sustain severe injuries from infections and internal vascular damage. The MDL is currently proceeding through the discovery phase.
Roundup Lawsuits
Thousands of people filed lawsuits against Bayer/Monsanto, alleging that the active ingredient in Roundup (glyphosate) can cause cancer. The World Health Organization has classified glyphosate as a probable carcinogen. Some lawsuits have resulted in plaintiffs receiving millions of dollars. The lawsuits in the Roundup MDL are expected to continue going to trial or settle in 2025.
Valsartan Cancer Lawsuits
Valsartan is a popular blood pressure medication. Lawsuits allege that batches of the medication were contaminated with NDMA. NDMA is linked to an increased risk of some types of cancer. Over 1,500 lawsuits have been filed. The first trial in the Valsartan MDL is expected to take place in the fall of 2025.
AFFF Firefighting Foam Lawsuits
Lawsuits allege that the chemicals in aqueous film-forming foam (firefighting foam) can cause cancer after prolonged exposure or use. Cancers associated with prolonged exposure to AFFF include testicular, prostate, pancreatic, and kidney cancer. Over 8,000 lawsuits are pending.
Depo-Provera Lawsuits
Many women use Depo-Provera birth control shots to prevent conception. Medroxyprogesterone acetate shots are given every 11 to 12 weeks. Scientific evidence has linked the use of Depo-Provera to an increased risk of meningiomas (brain tumors). The number of lawsuits is expected to increase in 2025 as women connect their brain tumors to the use of birth control shots.
Ozempic Lawsuits
Ozempic is a popular medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. It is also used as a weight loss medication. Lawsuits allege drug manufacturers Novo Nordisk and Eli Lily did not warn patients of the potential risks of using the medication, including gastroparesis and other gastrointestinal injuries. Wegovy, Rybelsus, Trulicity, and Mounjaro are also involved in the lawsuits.
