De Castroverde Injury Law has deep roots in the communities we serve. Our family built this firm in Nevada, raised families here, attended local schools, and developed relationships with the people and organizations that make our state stronger. As the firm has grown, our commitment to giving back has grown with it.

From supporting educators and future lawyers to participating in local events and serving Nevada’s Hispanic community, we believe being a local law firm means being involved beyond the courtroom.

Giving Back to the Community That Built Us

Our connection to Nevada began long before De Castroverde Injury Law became the firm it is today. Our father, Waldo De Castroverde, came to Nevada as a Cuban immigrant and became one of the state’s first Spanish-speaking attorneys. His commitment to helping families who needed a voice became the foundation of our firm.

Today, De Castroverde Injury Law has grown to more than 20 attorneys and a team of more than 100 people, but we have remained a family-run firm with strong ties to Nevada. We continue looking for meaningful ways to support the people, schools, organizations, and neighborhoods that have supported us.

Giving Back to the Community That Built Us

Supporting Nevada Teachers and Students

Education has always been especially important to our family. Several members of the De Castroverde family have close connections to education, and we understand the lasting influence a dedicated teacher can have on a student.

That is why De Castroverde Injury Law created the DLG Teacher Appreciation Awards, which have recognized outstanding educators in Nevada since 2017. Through the program, students, families, and community members have had the opportunity to nominate teachers whose dedication has made a meaningful difference.

The program has honored educators in Clark County and has also expanded to recognize teachers in Washoe County.

Investing in the Next Generation of Nevada Lawyers

Our commitment to education also extends to future members of Nevada’s legal community.

De Castroverde Injury Law supports programs connected with the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV, including efforts focused on education, mentorship, and expanding opportunities for future attorneys. In 2025, the Boyd School of Law presented the firm with a Certificate of Appreciation recognizing that support.

Members of our legal team are also personally involved in programs that help aspiring lawyers. Attorney Ryan Samano, for example, has worked with the Ándale Foundation and its annual 5K, supporting scholarships, LSAT preparation, and mentorship opportunities for Hispanic and Latino students pursuing legal careers.

Proudly Supporting Nevada’s Hispanic Community

Our relationship with Nevada’s Hispanic community is part of the foundation of De Castroverde Injury Law.

Waldo De Castroverde was one of Nevada’s early Spanish-speaking attorneys and built his practice in part around serving Hispanic families who often struggled to find legal representation in their language. That commitment continued through his sons, Alex and Orlando, and remains central to the firm today.

We were one of the first Spanish-speaking law firms in Nevada and today are the largest 100% Hispanic-owned law firm in the state. Many members of our legal team speak Spanish, allowing us to provide legal assistance to families in the language in which they are most comfortable.

In 2025, De Castroverde Injury Law also received recognition from the Consulate of Mexico in Las Vegas for the firm’s service and advocacy for the Hispanic community in Southern Nevada.

Showing Up for Las Vegas

Community involvement is not limited to donations or formal programs. We believe it also means showing up.

Our attorneys and staff participate in local business events, charitable activities, educational initiatives, and community gatherings throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Recent involvement has included the North Las Vegas Business Expo and the Ándale 5K, where our legal team joined other members of the community in supporting greater educational opportunity.

We are proud when our attorneys are recognized for their legal work, but some of the accomplishments that mean the most to us come from the relationships we build outside the office.

De Castroverde Injury Law was proud to sponsor the Back-to-School Community Festival at The Boulevard Mall, presented by Somos Votantes and Fiesta 98.1 FM. Hundreds of Southern Nevada families enjoyed school supplies, health resources, and raffles at the community-focused event. Representing De Castroverde were team members from the Immigration, Community Outreach, and Marketing departments, who connected with attendees and shared information about the firm’s services. The team was also glad to meet La Madrina of Fiesta 98.1 FM, whose energy helped make the day a memorable one for local families. De Castroverde remains committed to supporting Southern Nevada families both in and out of the courtroom.

9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at The STRAT Hotel

More than 460 firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and military personnel gathered at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower for the seventh-annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, marking 25 years since the attacks on the World Trade Center. Participants climbed 1,455 steps up 108 flights to the top of the 1,149-foot tower, each carrying a lanyard bearing the name and photo of a first responder who died on September 11, 2001. This year’s climbers came from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, the Henderson Fire Department, the North Las Vegas Fire Department, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and several other local and military organizations, along with international participants from Feuerwehr Baden Weikersdorf in Austria. With bagpipes playing in the background, the event stood as a powerful tribute to the sacrifice of the 343 FDNY firefighters lost that day.

Celebrating Mexican Independence Day With Our Community

De Castroverde Injury Law joined the Las Vegas community on September 15 to celebrate Mexican Independence Day at an El Grito celebration presented in collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Las Vegas.
The evening brought families and friends together for live music, traditional performances, dancing, and food, building up to the El Grito de Dolores ceremony that marks the start of Mexico’s fight for independence.
Team members from the firm spent the evening meeting attendees and celebrating alongside the community. For De Castroverde, events like this reflect a connection that goes back generations. The family’s Cuban roots and long relationship with Las Vegas’s Hispanic community continue to shape how the firm serves its clients.

Leadership Beyond the Law Firm

Our commitment to Nevada doesn’t stop at the office door. Alex serves on the boards of Cristo Rey St. Viator Las Vegas College Preparatory and the Kenny Guinn Center for Policy Priorities, and is involved with several other civic organizations across Southern Nevada.

Orlando serves on the Board of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation, helping with fundraising efforts that benefit LVMPD and the wider Las Vegas community. He is also a membership committee member and Guardian of Justice with the Nevada Justice Association.

Through this work, we carry forward the community-focused values that have shaped De Castroverde Injury Law for decades.
