8 Ways To Enjoy Springtime in Summerlin
After months of gray skies and chilly temperatures, spring is a welcome change. In addition to sunny skies, warmer weather, and beautiful blooms in nature, spring also usually brings a variety of fun things to do with friends or family. We created this list of some of the ways to enjoy springtime in Summerlin in Las Vegas to help you find something new to do.
Las Vegas Farmers Market
Head to the Pavilion at Downtown Summerlin every Saturday for the Las Vegas Farmers Market. Sponsored by Select Health, the market is open weekly from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit friendly farmers and enjoy a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, such as avocados, blood oranges, strawberries, beets, and leafy greens, squash, and much more. Browse other amazing offerings, such as fresh bread and pastries, European-style bread options and cakes, fresh-cut flowers, pasta, and nuts.
Summerlin Half Marathon
The Summerlin Half Marathon returns to the Lawn at Downtown Summerlin on Saturday, April 23. Celebrating its 10th year, the 13.1-mile course starts and finishes in Downtown Summerlin, and the race begins at 7:15 a.m. As you run, enjoy gorgeous views of desert landscapes, the Red Rock mountains, and the Las Vegas Strip. Be sure to register in advance and remember that all participants receive a shirt and medal with their registration fee.
Tour de Summerlin
Don’t miss your chance to participate in Southern Nevada’s longest-running bicycle event. Tour de Summerlin returns on Saturday, April 23, to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The tour offers 20-, 40-, and 80-mile routes to choose from, allowing you to participate whether you’re a casual or dedicated rider.
Tour de Summerlin features unique rider-friendly trails that change each year. Each route showcases the natural beauty of Summerlin and uses the abundant bike lanes throughout the area. Both the start and finish lines for all routes are in the heart of Downtown Summerlin this year, making it convenient for your friends and family to cheer you on and join you after you finish.
Red Rock Canyon
Reconnect with nature with a visit to Red Rock Canyon. Consider a leisurely drive on the 13-mile scenic drive through the park or take in the exhibits at the Visitor Center. If you’re looking for something more adventurous, trekking on one of the 26 hike and trail options or pursuing one of the beginners or advanced climbing paths may be for you.
Be sure to research all fee, pass, and reservation requirements before embarking on your visit to Red Rock Canyon. Most activities require a small fee and some require a reservation in advance. Proceeds from these purchases support the Southern Nevada Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that helps people appreciate and understand the cultural and natural resources of Red Rock Canyon.
Las Vegas Ballpark
Springtime means the return of baseball season. Consider paying a visit to Las Vegas Ballpark for an evening of America’s favorite pastime. Named the 2021 MiLB Triple-A Best of the Ballparks by Ballpark Digest, this stadium is home to Oakland Athletics-affiliated minor league team the Las Vegas Aviators. Early spring may also include chances to see the Oakland A’s themselves during a short series of spring training exhibition games.
Tickets for games are available now and be sure to plan your visit in advance. Check out the list of upcoming special events to help you decide which game to attend, such as opening night, discount nights, or dog-friendly games. This 10,000-capacity stadium features air-ventilated seating to help keep you comfortable throughout the night, and it includes a range of suite and dining options to enjoy.
The Venetian
One of the many popular concert venues right outside of Summerlin but still in Las Vegas is the famous Venetian hotel & resort. This popular casino and concert hall is known for its scaled replica of the Venice canals. Along with great everyday entertainment like pools, shows, and events, the Venetian also hosts some of the world’s best musical and comedic talent. Michael Buble returns on April 27th, and Marshmello on April 30th. On May 28th, Anita Baker is making a musical appearance. May has an EDM focus, with the likes of Alesso, Martin Garrix, and Zedd all performing.
